HP (Hewlett Packard) Fashion Tech Overview

As HP was exploring getting more involved in the fashion industry, I developed and delivered an overview of the key drivers and opportunities in fashion tech to a team at their European HQ.

HP, Inc.

HP, also known as Hewlett Packard, is a Fortune 500 technology company, operating worldwide. HP has become synonymous with printing, and is a global leader in this industry, as well as many other sectors across hardware and software. I collaborated with their consumer facing business, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain.

What They Needed

  • As HP was exploring opportunities to diversify their business and potentially enter or expand into new sectors, they reached out to gain some insights into how they could fit within the fashion industry.

  • They were preparing an internal project with a team allocated to this objective. The team needed an industry expert to provide an overview of the state of the fashion industry, and the role of certain technologies and innovations was influencing the future of the industry.

How We Collaborated

  • I came to their European HQ in Barcelona, and presented an overview to the team covering topics such as Ai, Material Science, Lean Manufacturing, Wearables, Sustainability, New Business Models, and more.

  • After presenting the overview, I fielded questions from the team and helped to provide clarity on possible directions to pursue for fashion-related projects.

The Results

  • This overview served as a catalyst for the team to start the project with industry knowledge and a better understanding of the areas that HP offerings could fit within the market.

  • This collaboration gave a more realistic perspective to the team at HP about what the landscape of the fashion industry looks like, and the opportunities and challenges for entering into the space effectively.
