What They Needed

In Toulouse Business School’s MSc in Marketing Management & Communication degree, they have a program for Marketing Communications in the Fashion Industry. This cohort was interested having careers in the fashion/retail industry, and I was invited to speak to the multiple cohorts over several years.

The interest in my guest lecture was from the perspective of someone who was deeply involved in the role of technology disrupting the fashion and retail industry. The guest lecture would contain insights into how technology is influencing communication within the industry, and how to prepare for it.
How We Collaborated

I collaborated with TBS Barcelona, in person at their campus and online, on several occasions. My presentation was on “Communication in the Fashion Tech Age”, covering the influence of technologies, innovations, transformations happening across the industry, and how it applies to marcomms.

Each guest lecture was for several hours, including a presentation and a lot of time for a Q&A session. The presentation contained information including Web3, Circular Economy, Ai, Social Commerce, Omnichannel, and New Business Models, and more.
The Results

This was a successful collaboration, in large measure due to the fact I was invited year after year. Through the presentation and the feedback sessions, the students could apply this information to their specific situations as they prepared to work in the industry.

The technologies and innovations provided in each session prepared the students with knowledge on how to navigate the future of the industry, and how to understand and integrate the tools to help them excel in their field as it evolves.
