HP (Hewlett Packard) The Collaborative Economy At Play

At an internal HP event, organized for their printing customers and partners at their European HQ, I was invited to deliver a presentation on The Collaborative Economy including its dynamics, engagement, and opportunities.

HP, Inc.

HP, also known as Hewlett Packard, is a Fortune 500 technology company, operating worldwide. HP has become synonymous with printing, and is a global leader in this industry, as well as many other sectors across hardware and software. I collaborated with their consumer facing business, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain.

What They Needed

  • The large-format printing division of HP hosted an event at their Barcetlona HQ for their partners and customers, with the goal to catalyze more business opportunities and collaboration among the participants.

  • I was invited to speak on the topic of the Collaborative Economy. This presentation would need to include useful information about its dynamics, opportunities, and how to successfully navigate it for success as it continues to grow.

How We Collaborated

  • I gave a presentation entitled “Make It Collaborative: The Collaborative Economy At Play”. This presentation covered the mechanics, growth opportunities and real-world learnings from my own experience.

  • The presentation gave insights into data, figures and best practices for successful participation in the Collaborative Economy.

The Results

  • The presentation was well-attended, with high engagement during the speech and subsequent Q&A session. My contacts at HP had communicated it was one of the highest rated presentations, and were very pleased.

  • According to HP, my presentation served as a catalyst for engagement among their attending customers and partners — resulting in exactly the outcome they had hoped for.

Terry Raghunath | Worldwide Business Development Manager @ HP

“Ryan participated in an event at the HP offices in Barcelona. The event involved HP customers and business partners. The objective of the event was to connect the participants to each other, which was challenging because they do not typically connect in their day to day lives. Ryan’s talk about the Collaborative Economy was a spark that helped this network start to pull together. I was not very well versed on this topic, and it was clear from my many conversations with Ryan that he is a subject matter expert. I am very grateful for getting a masterclass from Ryan. His relaxed, calm and empathetic style helped all of the participants look outside their comfort zones without hesitation. I would warmly welcome collaborating with Ryan again in the future.”
