Ferro Salon Brand Identity Sprint

For a new salon based in Washington, DC I facilitated a sprint to establish their brand identity and direction, and subsequently designed the company branding and website.

Ferro Salon

Washington DC’s Best Salon for the past two years, as chosen by DC Magazine, Ferro Salon is a hair and beauty salon located in Downtown Washington, DC.

What They Needed

  • There was a new salon opening in downtown Washington DC, without a name or brand identity. This was an opportunity to help these new salon owners be intentional and deliberate with the brand that they want, and my job was to help reveal the clarity of their purpose through this process.

  • Since it was a brand new venture, we had free reign to build the brand as the owners saw fit. Once the brand was established, an entire visual identity was developed, including the design and build of their website, signage, and marketing collateral.

How We Collaborated

  • I took the owners of this new salon through a brand exercise, utilizing design thinking and validation exercises. This helped the owners gain clarity on what they wanted (and didn’t want), to help craft the brand in alignment with their goals.

  • Through the facilitation of these sprints, the salon owners were able to decide on a name that fit well with their vision and identity. Subsequently, I built a visual identity around this brand, including logos, brochures, and a new website.

The Results

  • Ferro Salon is a well-known and highly regarded salon in Washington, DC. The owners have continued to build the brand, and it is a distinct one in the DC area.

  • Distinguishing a brand that was true to their vision, helped them to clear on the type of salon they wanted to be, and communicate this to their customers through their marketing, and more importantly through their service.
